Happy Thanksgiving! {2010}

>> Thursday, November 25, 2010

A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into His presence with singing!
Know that the LORD, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His;
we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him;
bless His name! For the LORD is good; His steadfast love endures forever,
and His faithfulness to all generations.
{Psalm 100}

Happy Thanksgiving, from my family, to yours!  May the Lord give you much to be thankful for!

How Appropriate

>> Monday, November 22, 2010

How appropriate that it comes the week of Thanksgiving!

Oh, you must be wondering what I'm talking about....

;D

Just today, the very nice UPS man delivered my new camera, and I am so excited! I cannot wait to put it to good use. It's been quite something not having a camera. The Lord is good though, and I have not gone crazy (contrary to what some people might tell you ;).

Now, I am off to find anything and everything to shoot... with my camera of course... :D

I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your Name, O Most High. {Psalm 9:2}

{P.S. It looks as though my old camera has been fixed, and I will have a backup camera for the future!}
{P.P.S. Be watching for images from my new camera on my photography blog!}

My Baby

As you all know, I'm a photographer, and I love my camera.

{Photo credit: Lauren}

Well, recently my camera has had an issue, and needs to be sent off.
When it gets to the warranty place, they will figure out if it's repairable or not, and then we'll figure it out from there.

Being without my camera has taught me a multitude of things:
1} My hope lies with Christ.
2} Life does go on without a camera.
3} I want a backup camera in the future.
4} Patience.
5} Contentment.
6} Thankfulness.
...and the list goes on.

When I first realized it was broken, I right away prayed "Whatever happens through this, please teach me something... anything."  And so far, the Lord has been very gracious!
Though I miss my camera, I think good will come of it, and I trust that the Lord has a perfect plan!

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
{Philippians 4:11}

Proverbs 3:1-14

>> Monday, November 8, 2010

My son, do not forget My teaching, but let your heart keep My commandments,
for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce;
then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.
My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of His reproof,
for the LORD reproves him whom He loves, as a father the son in whom He delights.
Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding,
for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.

October Trip 2010 {Days 6 & 7}

>> Wednesday, November 3, 2010

So where were we?

Oh yes. Indiana!

We spent two nights at the Brookshire's home after the Reformation Day Faire.  On Monday, we went outside and Lauren and I had ourselves a photoshoot!  It was so nice to be outside in the cool breeze!  Here are some of my photos...

Isn't Lauren beautiful?

Our assistant, Miss Breezy ;)

Before leaving on Tuesday, we got some group shots :)

The children

The parents

We passed a ton of windmills on our way to their home, but it was dark and we couldn't really see them. So on our way to the train station we got to see a few.

They're giant!

We had another layover in D.C. on our way home (6 hours this time), so dad and I went to three museums. I have a lot of photos from them, but they're kind of boring and I haven't gotten around to editing them, but I did like this one...

:)

The weather was a little nicer this time around, and we really liked how the sun was shining on the capitol as it set with the dark sky behind it!

So there you have it. All in all, we had a really great trip!! We're very happy to be home though :)

Have a blessed week!
Emily
