Do you wear green on St. Patrick's Day?

Interesting fact to ponder...
Orange is symbolic of Irish Protestants while green is symbolic of Irish Catholics.
On the Irish flag, there is an orange stripe, a green stripe and a white stripe.
The orange is for the Protestants, the green is for the Catholics and the white is for
the hope of peace between the two.

Not that I don't believe you, but where did you hear that? I think I'm going to do some searching on St. Patrick today.

Basically, I googled around (because someone had made a comment about wearing orange today and I was curious), and found this to be the case.
And I just searched again to figure out where I got this exact statement from and it looks like I got it here
It always amazes me when I learn something like this - things I thought I should've known already!
My brother happily reminded me that I wasn't wearing green today {He enjoyed giving the little pinch!}. I neverknew those facts, but it sounds very interesting!

It is very true about the colors and sadly their religious differences rocked Ireland and some people even got injured and killed if they went in the wrong part of town. In Ireland today you can still see graffiti telling off people of the opposed faith. Wearing the wrong color or speaking with Southern accent in a Northern town could get you into trouble. It's not like that now but there are many songs about the Orange and the Green that are still sung. And as you say the current flag with both colors and white together is supposed to represent an Ireland now united instead of divided.
I do wear green on St. Patrick's Day, I enjoy everything Irish especially music and I hope to visit Ireland one day.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! :)
