The Little Things Photo Challenge {Day Three}

>> Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Today seemed like a long day... maybe it was... I don't know.

The fires were really bad and closer to home than they've been in a while. Today was one of Dad's days
off and he got called in for a meeting this morning, then he was called into a fire just a little bit after he
got home from the meeting. He had just enough time to sit down for lunch and kind of gather himself. I
don't know how he does it! Mom and I are so blessed that he is working to provide for us!!

Anyway, the photos :) Baked the potato rolls this morning, did my toenails, worked in the yard some,
did dinner for my Grandparents with Tricia, came home and sewed I'm sewing some now.

Enjoy the slideshow!

I really liked this song when I heard it come on the radio earlier (don't worry, I was parked when I took
that picture ;).

Oh, and a shameless plug here - that soap in my cute soap dish? From Brittany at Mountain Creek Gifts!
It's the Peppermint Cookie soap and I adore it!  You should definitely check out her blog and shop.

We have the same song in our slideshows. :) I posted that yesterday in my slideshow, it came on while 60 mph winds whipped our trees and lightning lit the sky into white flashes. I have loved Laura Story for years, and her music is sound, powerful words rooted in Truth - God's promises!! When I first heard this song, my heart broke with its truths ....

"what if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near" - perhaps only several hundred for me, but I've LIVED THIS. and He is near!

My favorite part of the song - "What if my greatest disappointments or the ACHING OF THIS LIFE is the REVEALING OF A GREATER THIRST this world can't satisfy? And what if trials of this life - the rain, the storms, the hardest nights - are Your mercies in disguise."

Love it.

Hey Emily! I have been reading your blog for awhile now, and since I live in the panhandle of Fl. I have found your pictures very relatable...anyhow...

Laura Story's "blessings" has truly ministered to me and my family the past few weeks. My younger sister of fifteen years has just been diagnosed with brain cancer...she has already has had the surgery to remove the tumor, and is now trying to heal before the next step. It was all so sudden and unexpected. God has truly been faithful to us and has given my sister great faith during this trial. He has a plan to use this trial! PLease be praying!

Love your photos!

Its neat that you posted about this song because I posted it a couple of week ago here..http://januarylemongrass.blogspot.com/2011/04/laura-story-blessings.html

Many Blessings!

P.S. I will definitely be praying for the wildfires!

Our Dear Cases,
Thank you for your perseverance and commitment to protect and care for those you do not even know but are in danger. Thank you for your tireless effort in fighting the many fires. We are praying for you and love you.
