January Catch Up Post: #2

Part 2 of 2 from my birthday trip to Disney. Here are the rest of the photos!

To answer Bethany's question: These here... well... I'm not sure what they're called.  But basically, they kept us from falling into the hippo pool (or jumping in my case) :)

How precious is this little giraffe??

I just love Ankole Cattle

Our African cuisine :)

"Jungle Juice"

They told us that when the lady was carving this, a giraffe actually came up to the area and she carved it looking at the giraffe instead of the photo.

A simba taking a stretch

It's winter in Brazil... in other words: All of Brazil was at Disney.

Our last day there, we left for a bit to go pick up Tricia and bring her back with us. This is her sister's cat, and her sister's husband's sister's child (her semi-distant nephew ;).

*laughs really hard*
We decided to look scared. Are we convincing? ;D

Now the rest of these are from my old camera - which mom so graciously carried for me to get some extra shots (thanks, mom)!

Mom's view of Meghan posing for me :)

Fabulous sunflare :)

Getting geared up to go out on the bridge over the hippos and crocs :D :D :D

*excited*

Woohoo! That's 69 Disney photos. *phew*
My next catch up post will come soon... stay tuned! :)

January Catch Up Post: #1

>> Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Why hello there! Since I've been rather busy, I thought I'd start working on some catch up posts now that things are slowing down a bit.

First post is part 1 of 2 from my birthday trip to Disney last week! Mom and I stayed a couple nights at the Pop Century Hotel in Disney, and my birthday present was the Wild Africa Trek - a new tour at Disney's Animal Kingdom! It was fabulous. We enjoyed every second of it.

I've got about 69 photos to share, which is why this is part 1 of 2! I will post the rest of the photos in the next catch up post. Until then, enjoy these shots!

The man at the front desk gave mom and I carnations!

Our colorful hotel

One thing I've noticed about Disney: Color. It's everywhere!

Amazing birds...

*click*
Mom was gracious and lugged my old camera around so she could get some photos when we went on our tour.
Oh, my ring, yes. The bus guy saw my birthday button, and instead of embarrassing me making everyone at the bus stop sing happy birthday to me, he gave me this princess ring ;)

Isn't she adorable??

Cute... cute... cute...

Mom - all geared up and ready for the trek!

Me - all geared up and ready for the trek!

One of our awesome tour guides, Meghan, posing for me :)

Best part of the trek (for me) was seeing the hippos.

They were being fed watermelon (and loving it) as we walked over them on the bridge... it was fantastic!

:D

*super excited*

The cool crocs.

Alright, that's all for now - check back soon for more catch up posts! :)
