A Day with Jean Marie

>> Thursday, April 21, 2011

On Monday, Jean Marie and I had a great day full of adventures!

First, we went to the beach with our friend Becca. We only had about 15 minutes with Becca because
she had to meet a friend, but it was very nice to have those few minutes with her :)
The waves were kind of small and the water was freezing, but we boogie boarded and floated anyway.
Then we sat on the sand in the shallow water and dripped mud on our legs while the water flowed in and out.
When we had our fill of the beach and were ready to eat, we decided to drive up the road a ways to
Snack Jack's for a seafood lunch.
This is where we ran into a problem.
After spending quite a bit of time there, just enjoying our lunch on the beach,
we went to pay and there it was - a sign, which read...

"CASH ONLY - ATM Available"

Our hearts sunk slightly. We only had cash and a credit card - not a debit card, and not enough cash.
We couldn't pay with our cash, and we couldn't get money from the ATM. Oh how I wish I had brought
my wallet. I would've had my wallet if I knew we were going to lunch, but that was kind of a spur of the
moment decision. [You see, I don't like to take much of anything to the beach - too many opportunities
for theft, which is why I don't have pictures of any of this.]
So what do you do when you can't do anything?

Call your Momma.

And I did just that.
So my Mom came and saved the day (thank you, Mom!) and we drove off to meet Gabe and Molly at
Publix for some Klondikes.  There, Molly had her first Klondike bar, we dripped ice cream all over our hands,
and then Jean and I drove home.
(In case you hadn't noticed, we did lots of driving,
thus we did lots of listening to country music :)

Once home, we got cleaned up and pulled ourselves together for dinner at Aunt Catfish's with
some of my family.
Since I took my camera to dinner, now I can let photos tell the story. I think they do a better job... ;)

The sun was setting when we got to the restaurant.
Red hair + sunset lighting = ♥

The table buzzers at Aunt Catfish's are lobster-shaped... how cute is that?

Something in the water freaked her out... but it was just a bunch of mullets, no worries! :)

Uncle John... Me & Jean ;)

This little girl was so precious.  She had those squeaker shoes that squeak with every step... so cute.

This is Joey, the reject onion.  Poor Joey.

I wish I could've done justice to the moon.  It was beautiful.

*mmmm jasmine*

My sweet friend and I!

Thank you Jean, for being a Case for a day with me. It was quite an adventure!
Much love!

Gabe is 21...

>> Wednesday, April 20, 2011

...and today is his birthday!

Gabe has become a very close friend, like a big brother, and I am so thankful for him.
We've made many memories with friends, and have plenty of stories to die laughing about now.
He's always there when we need him ("we" being "girls that need a Bodyguard"), and such a great
source of general happiness. It seems like he's always happy no matter what, finds the good in
everyone, and smiles all the time.
Oh. and he has a Molly. Click here to see Jean's birthday post for him with a picture of him and his sweetheart ♥

A very happy birthday full of blessings and Carrabba's to you, big brother!

*thumbs up* for horse shoe!

He's pretty good at playing Settlers.  I'm still workin' on it.

This is one of those memories moments.  Actually, reliving a memory :)

Gabe, Tricia and Cody when we went go-karting for my birthday this year.

At a bonfire after the Jamboree last year.

“Two are better than one,
because they have a good reward for their toil.
For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls
and has not another to lift him up!”

{Spring Frolic 2011}

>> Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Here is my wonderful weekend I was talking about! I had such a grand time dancing, singing, clapping
and just enjoying time with my friends! It was such a blessing to see so many of my dear friends all at once.

Here are my photos... not many (for two awesome days), but here they are :)

{Day 1}

We were all taking turns trying to get the horse shoe, and Gabe finally got it!
*thumbs up*

I turn around and Gabe is like, "Selected brains?  Here?"
Hahaha

Jordan the blacksmith

Provy and Beri tried the horse shoe as well...

Beri got it!

She was surprised and pleased :D

{Day 2}
This was my view for about half the day.  I drove a courtesy cart for the day, and Mom was
kind enough to help me and switch out with me so I could spend time with my friends.
Yes, you're right - she is awesome.

And that is where the pictures stop. I know, bad photographer. I was just having too much fun!
I'll post photos from dinner on Monday soon...

Much love, Em
